Young Social Revolution Puttospeed in India this Month
Indian constitution needs an overwhelming change since the days of independence in 1947, August 15, and when India became Republic in 1950, January 26. There has been much change in sincerity and rectitude as well as definition of moral values have taken a south turn as evidenced by attitude of population the globe over. While west has been accelerating towards open values and flexibility in change of law, India is lagging with sticking to its dead and sick laws of per-independence era, that implies humanitarian values and commercial values remain unchanged as far as implementation of law is concerned. If police wants to arrest you, it will dig out some obsolete section and hold you in its net.
No this is not India! It is orthodox India which does not want to embrace change, where governance still believes in no change. Governance has failed miserably in these times as politician has only seat attraction and to remain embedded in grabbed power, hence no time to effect any change. Values, social media and internet has been on acceleration mode but decision, implementation and flexibility in embracing change is the lacking attribute. Entire generation above 65 years needs to be overhauled to effect change in mind-set and then only gradual change will be visible.
The gang rape in India which aroused the country's youth and led to leaderless mobilization of mob of girls and boys raising their voice against loose laws and demanding safety of women near India Gate in New Delhi, was met with lathi charge by Indian police. Is this the way leaders and enforcement cadre ought to behave? Is this the solution to resolve issue or scuttle voice? Is this the method and logic to stop meaningful revolution? What was wrong in asking quick justice and heavy punishment? No one from government even after 5-6 days came out to speak on their own. The irony is - lady is Chief Minister and lady is at the helm of affairs of present government in India. Prime Minister kept his mouth shut till the rage kept on increasing and then words to maintain peace were spoken after administration saw uprising.
This is not India, where elected people do not listen to public, who voted them to power. What for governance is it? To solve Indian population problems or beating them to keep their mouth shut. No! Leaders have lost logic and reason to convince except by way of old age method of lathi charge. In fact police provoked peaceful students to go for rampaging things. No one starts till the sensible and powerful person initiates (here police and administration). Indian leaders in present governance are putting bad example to educate the future generation and not realizing that change in laws must be put-to-speed. Population has much higher IQ than majority of people who are in power. Even, call to call special session of Parliament by biggest opposition party in India, to amend law, went unheeded. This shows unwillingness to solve problem. This is all selfishness in attitude of people who are slack and slow in resisting change. It is sheer stupidity to remain in power. No one had moral courage to own responsibility and resign seat. Anybody can understand crocodile tears. Barack Obama came out on his own in a recent gun-fire incident in USA. Here governing people conduct meeting, come out with a sentence and speak on visual media, means no accountability on one's own.
That needs reform first, before any reform. Right to reject elected politician is must now. Only lip service and getting good remarks from seniors is not suffice, that anyone can do; what is new in it, people are very educated in India. There needs to be a college from where people with minimum standards of educational degree should be elected to seats of power, like the way IIMs or IITs or Civil Services, MBBS have their selection criteria to manage and run administration. Else, India will remain to be governed by insensitive approach to such sensitive matter. There is need to change and bring change in all streamlines.
