Alertness Put To Speed
Intelligence Bureau issued a second security alert for Advani, as he faces a threat from Lashkar-e-Toiba. Security at his house has been beefed up after alerts.
BJP (Bhartiya Janta Party) Prime Ministerial candidate LK Advani has a special security cover. It includes National Security Guard security in the innermost ring supported by local police at other circles.
The alert said:
LeT operatives may try to breach LK Advani's security ring.
Security breach may occur in guise of press persons or party workers. First time a media person has been mentioned in an IB report of this sort.
In January 2008, after Rampur terror attack, National Security Advisor, MK Narayan specially met Advani to convey the seriousness of threat.
Home Ministry also issued a first threat alert for Mr. Advani from gangster Dawood Ibrahim.
Letter stated:
As per an input received from the Central Security Agencies, Dawood Ibrahim during a meeting with senior ISI functionaries is asked to restart activites in India and also to target Shri LK Advani.
